Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has claimed that the political graph of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) is falling sharply, while the Congress continues to strengthen its position in the state. His remarks came while discussing recent political developments and the functioning of the Telangana Legislative Assembly.
Revanth Reddy accused the BRS and BJP of allegedly creating confusion over government land and disputed private properties, saying such issues were contributing to unrest among landowners. He also referred to recent incidents involving BRS leaders and criticised disruptions inside the Assembly.
The Chief Minister said the government had ordered inquiries into incidents reported at the Assembly gates and around BRS president K. Chandrashekar Rao’s Erravelli farmhouse. He also appreciated Congress legislators for countering what he described as attempts by the Opposition to disrupt government functioning.
Reddy urged Congress MLAs to maintain full attendance during Assembly sessions, actively participate in debates and raise constituency-related issues. He warned that the individual performance and conduct of legislators could play an important role in determining their prospects in the next election.
On the caste census, the Chief Minister called on Congress legislators to push the Centre to adopt Telangana’s model at the national level. He also urged lawmakers to closely monitor the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls and remain vigilant in protecting eligible voters’ rights.
Revanth Reddy further highlighted the government’s development and welfare initiatives, stating that the Assembly’s functioning was being used to discuss issues related to Telangana’s progress and public welfare.
