India enjoyed a strong day at the Asian Games 2026 on September 30, winning four gold medals across archery and shooting while the women’s hockey team booked a place in the final.
Archers Complete Gold Sweep
India dominated the compound archery team events, collecting three gold medals. Jyothi Surekha Vennam, Chikitha Taniparthi and Prithika Pradeep won the women’s team title, while Kushal Dalal, Sahil Jadhav and Ganesh Mani Ratnam Thirumuru claimed gold in the men’s event.
Chikitha and Sahil added another gold in the mixed team competition after a shoot-off against South Korea.
Shooting Adds Another Gold
Neeru Dhanda and Kynan Chenai won the mixed team trap gold, giving India its fourth gold of the day. The result also added another highlight to Dhanda’s impressive Asian Games campaign.
Women’s Hockey Reaches Final
The Indian women’s hockey team defeated South Korea 2-0 in the semifinal. India will now face defending champions China in the gold-medal match.
India is aiming for its first Asian Games women’s hockey gold since 1982.
More Medals for India
India also added medals in boxing and wrestling. Lovlina Borgohain reached the women’s 75kg final, while Sunil Kumar won bronze in Greco-Roman wrestling. The men’s and women’s squash teams also advanced to the semifinals, assuring India of further medals.
