Fans of the Stree franchise will have to wait a little longer for the next chapter. Producer Dinesh Vijan has confirmed that Stree 3 will release in 2028, with the film’s script already completed by director Amar Kaushik.
Script Is Ready
The makers have kept the storyline under wraps, but Vijan has hinted that the third film will retain the elements audiences enjoyed in the earlier instalments while taking the story in an unexpected direction. The producer described the upcoming film as a “complete revelation.”
Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor Return
Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor are expected to continue their roles in the horror-comedy universe. Stree 3 will follow the 2018 original and its 2024 sequel, Stree 2.
Why the Film Is Delayed
Director Amar Kaushik will first work on Mahavatar, starring Vicky Kaushal. Production on Stree 3 is expected to begin after that project, with filming planned for late 2027.
The makers have not revealed an exact 2028 release date yet, although an Independence Day or Christmas release has been suggested.
