India entered another important day of the Asian Games 2026 in Aichi-Nagoya with medal opportunities across several sports. September 30 featured action in archery, shooting, boxing, wrestling, hockey, golf and other disciplines as the Indian contingent continued its campaign.

Archers Lead India’s Medal Push
Compound archery was one of the major attractions for India. The women’s compound team featuring Jyothi Surekha Vennam, Prithika Pradeep and Taniparthi Chikitha entered the medal rounds.
India also had Taniparthi Chikitha and Sahil Rajesh Jadhav competing in the mixed compound team event, while the men’s compound team was also in action.
The mixed compound event carried additional significance because an Olympic quota for Los Angeles 2028 was at stake.
Shooting Offers Another Medal Opportunity
India’s shooters were also in contention on September 30. The mixed team trap event featured Neeru Dhanda and Kynan Chenai, who advanced to the final after finishing fourth in qualification.
Neeru had already won the women’s individual trap gold the previous day, making her one of India’s notable performers in the shooting competition.
Boxing Semifinals in Focus
Indian boxers also had important semifinal bouts scheduled. Priya Ghanghas, Lovlina Borgohain and Kapil Pokhariya were among the Indian fighters competing for places in their respective finals.
Priya secured a bronze medal after losing her women’s 60kg semifinal, while Lovlina advanced to the women’s 75kg final after defeating Kazakhstan’s Natalya Bogdanova in a split decision.
Wrestling and Hockey Add to the Action
Wrestling began its competition for India on the day, with athletes entering the mat in Greco-Roman and women’s categories.
The Indian women’s hockey team also had a crucial semifinal against South Korea, with a place in the final at stake.
Golf also featured on the day’s programme, with Aditi Ashok, Diksha Dagar and Pranavi Urs representing India in the women’s competition.
