More than 1,000 employees associated with the Swarna Grama and Swarna Ward Sachivalayam schemes have intensified their protest in Visakhapatnam, demanding the government address their long-pending service and salary-related issues.The employees have been staging a three-day protest and reportedly continued their agitation with a sit-in near the RTC Complex area. The demonstration affected traffic movement in the area as employees gathered on the main road demanding immediate action on their grievances.
Employees said they had been observing a hunger strike for three days, but claimed that there had been no satisfactory response to their demands. They have now intensified the agitation and appealed to the state government to intervene and resolve the issues at the earliest.A representative of the employees said the protest was aimed at getting their service-related issues resolved and that the employees were seeking dialogue with the government rather than opposing it.Visakhapatnam RDO Dileep Chakravarthy said the employees had submitted several demands, including career advancement, AAS, Joint Staff Council membership and annual increments. He said the issues would have to be examined and decisions taken by the government.The employees have appealed to the government to consider their demands and provide clarity on promotions, salary arrears and career progression. The situation is being closely watched as the protest continues in Visakhapatnam.
