When the Family Car Goes Digital
For today’s connected households, a family car is increasingly expected to do more than provide transportation. Smartphones, apps and smart home devices have changed everyday routines, and automakers are now bringing similar technology into the cabin.
The VinFast VF 6 is positioned around this idea of a “Family 4.0” lifestyle, combining electric mobility with connected features and driver-assistance technology.
A Car That Connects With Your Phone
The VF 6 features a 12.9-inch infotainment display with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Its smartphone app also allows owners to remotely access selected functions, check vehicle information and receive notifications.
The vehicle can also receive over-the-air software updates, reducing the need to visit a workshop for compatible software improvements.
Designed Around Everyday Family Needs
The India-spec VF 6 offers features aimed at making daily driving easier, including multiple driver-assistance systems, seven airbags and a 360 degree surround-view system.
Depending on the variant, the SUV can offer features such as adaptive cruise control, lane-centering assistance, automatic emergency braking and blind-spot detection.
Electric Power Meets Practical Range
The VF 6 uses a 59.6-kWh battery and offers an ARAI certified range of up to 468 km, depending on the variant. Its battery can be fast-charged from 10% to 70% in about 25 minutes under specified conditions.
The higher-powered version produces up to 150 kW and 310 Nm of torque, giving the compact electric SUV a performance-focused option alongside its everyday practicality.
Safety Is a Major Part of the Package
Safety is another important part of the VF 6’s family positioning. The model received a five-star Bharat NCAP safety rating in 2026, scoring 27.13 out of 32 for adult occupant protection and 44.41 out of 49 for child occupant protection.
Can EVs Become the New Family Standard?
The VF 6 reflects a broader shift in how consumers view family vehicles. Technology, safety, connectivity and running costs are becoming just as important as space and comfort.
For families already accustomed to managing everyday life through connected devices, an EV such as the VF 6 represents a move towards a more integrated form of mobility.
The Family Car Is Becoming Smarter
The idea behind “Family 4.0” is ultimately about convenience. Remote controls, connected services, software updates, electric power and advanced safety features bring the car closer to the digital ecosystem that surrounds modern households.
As India’s EV market expands, this combination of technology and practicality could become increasingly important in the family-car segment.
