West Indies defeated India by 24 runs in the fourth T20I in Hyderabad on October 14, 2026, to level the five-match series 2-2. Captain Shai Hope led the visitors with an unbeaten century, while Keemo Paul delivered a match-winning bowling performance to restrict India’s chase.

Shai Hope Powers West Indies to 247/3

Batting first, West Indies posted a massive 247/3 in 20 overs at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. Hope scored an unbeaten 102 off 50 balls, combining powerful hitting with consistent scoring to anchor the innings.

Sherfane Rutherford supported him with an unbeaten 49 off 26 deliveries, helping West Indies finish strongly and set India a challenging target of 248 runs.

Sanju Samson Provides India with a Fast Start

India began the chase aggressively, with Sanju Samson smashing 56 off just 23 balls. Abhishek Sharma added 29 runs, giving the hosts hope of keeping pace with the required run rate.

However, West Indies struck back when Keemo Paul dismissed Samson and Ishan Kishan in the fifth over. Gudakesh Motie then removed Abhishek Sharma and Naman Dhir in quick succession, putting India under pressure.

Keemo Paul Turns the Match Around

India attempted to rebuild through Tilak Varma and Nitish Kumar Reddy, who added 70 runs for the sixth wicket. Tilak scored 43 off 25 balls, while Reddy made 41 off 20 deliveries.

Paul returned to break the partnership and continued taking wickets, finishing with figures of 5/41. India were bowled out for 223 in 19.3 overs, falling 24 runs short of the target.

Fifth T20I to Decide the Series

The victory levelled the series at 2-2, setting up a decisive fifth T20I in Bengaluru on October 17. India will look to address their bowling concerns and improve their execution under pressure, while West Indies will aim to maintain their momentum and secure the series.
