Nayyi Navelli vs Prahaar: Yami Gautam Takes Early Box Office Lead Over Rajkummar Rao

Yami Gautam’s supernatural comedy Nayyi Navelli has taken an early lead over Rajkummar Rao’s courtroom drama Prahaar: The Ujjwal Nikam Story at the Indian box office. Both films arrived in theatres on October 16, 2026, but their opening-day collections showed a stronger start for Gautam’s film.

Nayyi Navelli Leads on Opening Day

According to early box office estimates reported by Sacnilk, Nayyi Navelli collected approximately ₹3.25 crore net in India on its first day. The film recorded around 11% audience occupancy across 6,281 shows.

The supernatural comedy follows Mohini, who enters a troubled family and attempts to bring positive change. Strange incidents, however, lead to suspicions about her identity.

Prahaar Records a Slower Start

Rajkummar Rao’s Prahaar: The Ujjwal Nikam Story earned approximately ₹2.35 crore net in India on its opening day. The courtroom drama recorded around 13% occupancy across 4,133 shows.

The film centres on public prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam and his involvement in high-profile criminal cases. Despite its subject and ensemble cast, it opened behind Yami Gautam’s release in first-day collections.

Weekend Performance Will Be Crucial

Although Nayyi Navelli has the initial advantage, both films will depend on audience response and weekend footfall to build momentum. Their opening figures also reflect competition from other major releases in cinemas.

The coming days will offer a clearer picture of whether either film can improve its box office performance and sustain audience interest.
