Microsoft has announced the Xbox Nano Controller, a compact wireless gamepad designed for portability, younger players and gamers with smaller hands. The new accessory retains the familiar Xbox control layout while offering a much smaller and lighter design.
Measuring just over five inches and weighing approximately 99 grams, the controller is designed to fit easily into a pocket or bag. Despite its compact size, it includes all 18 standard gameplay inputs.
Xbox Nano Controller: Features
The controller supports Xbox Wireless connectivity for compatible Xbox consoles and Bluetooth for supported Windows PCs, tablets, smartphones and select smart TVs. It also features a built-in rechargeable battery and a USB Type-C charging port.
Another feature is a programmable Action Button, which users can customise for shortcuts such as taking screenshots or capturing gameplay. The device is available in white, giving buyers a portable alternative to a conventional Xbox controller.
Price and Launch Date
Microsoft has set the US price at $49.99, with pre-orders open through its online store. The controller is scheduled to launch on November 4, 2026, in selected markets, including the US, UK, Japan, Australia and Canada, alongside several other countries. Additional markets are expected to follow.
Microsoft has not confirmed an India-specific price or launch date in its initial announcement.
The company is also partnering with Samsung for a US holiday promotion that bundles the controller with two months of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate for new members purchasing select smart TVs. A similar offer is planned with Meta for eligible Quest headset purchases.
With its pocket-friendly design, rechargeable battery and cross-device connectivity, the Xbox Nano Controller offers a new option for casual and on-the-go gaming.
