Samsung Galaxy Buds On Debuts With Clip-On Design and 9.5-Hour Battery

Samsung has expanded its Galaxy Buds lineup with the Galaxy Buds On, a new pair of wireless earphones that takes a different approach to the traditional in-ear design. Instead of sitting inside the ear canal, the earbuds use a clip-on, open-ear design that keeps users more aware of their surroundings.

Samsung Galaxy Buds On Price and Availability

The Galaxy Buds On has been announced at KRW 299,000, which is roughly ₹21,000 based on the conversion reported at launch. Samsung will begin selling the earbuds in South Korea on October 27, with a wider global rollout planned later.

Samsung has not yet announced an India launch date or India-specific pricing.

Clip-On Design Keeps Ears Unobstructed

The biggest change is the open-ear design. The Buds On sit around the ear instead of being inserted into the ear canal.

This allows users to listen to music or take calls while remaining more aware of sounds around them, which could be useful when walking outdoors or moving through busy environments.

TwinBoost Speakers and Audio Leakage Reduction

Samsung has equipped the earbuds with TwinBoost speakers and automatic volume control that adjusts listening levels according to surrounding conditions.

The company has also added Audio Leakage Reduction technology, designed to minimise sound escaping from the earbuds in places such as cafés, libraries and other shared spaces.

Up to 9.5 Hours of Playback

Samsung claims that the Galaxy Buds On can deliver up to 9.5 hours of music playback on a single charge.

The earbuds use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon S7 Gen 1 Sound Platform with a Class-D amplifier. However, Samsung has not yet disclosed several detailed specifications, including the Bluetooth version and supported codecs.

Galaxy AI Features Add a Hands-Free Touch

The Galaxy Buds On also brings several features designed to work with compatible Galaxy AI devices. Users can access Gemini Live through voice commands, record notes with Quick Voice Memo and use head gestures for actions such as answering calls or dismissing notifications.

The earbuds also feature three microphones and a bone-conduction-based Voice Pickup Unit sensor to help improve voice pickup during calls.

A New Direction for Galaxy Buds

With the Galaxy Buds On, Samsung is moving beyond conventional in-ear wireless earbuds and exploring the growing open-ear audio category.

The combination of an unobstructed design, long claimed battery life and Galaxy AI features makes the Buds On a notable addition to Samsung’s audio lineup. More details, including wider-market availability and complete specifications, are expected as the product moves closer to its wider rollout.
