Tamil actor Arjun Das has revealed that he was in talks with filmmaker Farhan Akhtar for Don 3, but the planned collaboration is no longer moving forward.
In a recent interaction with News18, Arjun confirmed that he met Farhan and discussed the project. He said he was fortunate to receive the opportunity but added that the film is not happening for him now.
Arjun Das Was Considered for Don 3
Arjun Das said he had personally met Farhan Akhtar to discuss a role in the film. While details of the character were not officially confirmed, reports have suggested that he was being considered for an important role.
The actor also expressed hope that he would get an opportunity to work with Farhan on another project in the future.
What Happened to Don 3?
Don 3 was announced in 2023 with Ranveer Singh taking over the iconic role previously played by Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan. Ranveer later exited the project, and the film’s future became uncertain.
Reports have since described disagreements involving the script, production schedule and the circumstances surrounding Ranveer’s departure. These accounts have come from industry reports and the positions of the parties involved, rather than from a single agreed account.
Hrithik Roshan Connection Also Sparked Reports
After Ranveer’s exit, reports circulated that Hrithik Roshan could potentially take over the role. However, Roshan publicly clarified in February 2026 that he had never been approached for Don 3.
With Arjun Das now confirming his own earlier discussions with Farhan, the film continues to remain a subject of interest among Bollywood audiences.
Arjun Das’ Upcoming Hindi Project
Despite Don 3 not materialising, Arjun Das has said he will soon appear in another Hindi project that is currently in post-production. His confirmation adds another chapter to the long-running uncertainty surrounding Farhan Akhtar’s next Don film.
